If you’re looking for the perfect Eid dessert here it is! While these might look fancy and hard to make they’re actually easy and will impress anyone you make them for. The perfect flavors for Eid, flakey puff pastry filled with cardamom cream and topped with pistachios.
Note:
If you can’t find or don't have cardamom powder, you can make your own using cardamom pods. Take out the seeds and blend or chop them into a powder.
Make sure your heavy whipping cream is cold
The amount of cardamom powder you use depends on your liking, some like it stronger while others like it more subtle so taste as you add it
INGREDIENTS (Makes 10 pastries)
1 Sheet of thawed puff pastry
2 cups heavy whipping cream
4 tbsp condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 - 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
1 beaten egg
Condensed milk for drizzling
Chopped pistachios
Powdered sugar
Directions
Take out one sheet of puff pastry to thaw.
In a large bowl add heavy cream, condensed milk, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and Cardamom powder.
Whip until it reaches stiff peaks.
Cut the puff pastry into 5 long strips and then cut those in half to make 10 rectangles.
Using a fork poke some holes into each piece.
Brush with the egg wash and then bake as instructed on the packaging until golden brown.
Let the puffs cool a bit and then split each piece in half to make a top and bottom.
Fill the bottom pieces with the cream and then add the top.
Sprinkle some powder sugar, drizzle condensed milk, and then add the chopped pistachios.
